PROGRAMME

This is a two-day event on longitudinal social science data. The meeting will have a Scottish focus and is for both academic and non-academic social researchers. There will be talks on the existing large-scale longitudinal datasets and the newly available data from The Millennium Cohort Study, The British Household Panel Survey (Living in Scotland) and The Scottish Longitudinal Study. There will also be a number of presentations on other sources of longitudinal data on Scotland and Scottish society. There will be substantive talks drawing on longitudinal data in the areas of the Scottish economy, education in Scotland and ageing and fertility, as well as presentations on Scottish identity and public opinions in Scotland.

Professor Ian Diamond (Chief Executive of the UK Economic and Social Research Council) will give a key-note address. There will be opportunities to meet with the principal investigators of the major longitudinal studies and other researchers in Scotland interested in longitudinal data.

The meeting will be held at the University of St Andrews.

The deadline has now passed for residential delegates.

The cost of attendance for non-residential delegates is £75 (this includes registration, tea and coffee and lunch on Friday). The number of places is strictly limited.
